Art Facts:
- Weekly camp fee includes all art material, registration fee, one camp t-shirt, and a bag.
- Since we get messy in art, campers are to wear their camp shirts each day. We also use aprons in the studio. Additional camp shirts can be purchased for $20/each.
- Every week is staffed with a certified art teacher and interns with an approximate 1:6 staff/student ratio. All campers will be in the same age group.
- Young artists are expected to create at least three major projects and two minor ones within the five days using a mixed media approach.
- Young artists will also be exposed to master artist studies and educational resources based on our weekly theme.
- Campers do not need to register for the two weeks of each set of themes. Individual weeks are encouraged, as well, and connections will be made between the set of themes.
- All campers must bring lunch Monday-Thursday and water each day. We encourage “green” reusable water bottles and containers.
- KNMA will provide a pizza lunch each Friday.
- All campers should pack a morning and afternoon snack each camp day, as well as lunch and a drink. KNMA offers additional snacks for sale on site as well. If you would like your camper to purchase additional snacks, please ensure they bring cash.
- KNMA prices our camps out as low as possible. We are pleased to offer sibling discounts when registering multiple children.
- We wear socks in the studio to keep our floors clean and free of germs. We always have clean socks in the studio, but please feel free to bring your own.
- KNMA offers a fun, safe, creative, nurturing, and educational environment. We reserve the right to dismiss a child from camp without refund who is continually disruptive to our overall environment and does not adjust to repeated requests or family support.
- Single day options are available if our week is not full. Daily spots will be released the Friday before the start of camp.
- All camp fees are due at time of registration. No refunds or changes to registrations can be made to registrations completed after May 19th. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue credit or refunds for absences, so please make sure to attend all camp days to make great ART!
- KNMA is proud of our Summer Art Series and promises to work hard to make your child’s time with us creatively enjoyable and rewarding. Please come to us with any questions or concerns throughout the week! Thank you!

Sea & Sky!
The Summer of 2025 will kick off in gorgeous shades of blue compliments of Mother Earth’s SEA and SKY! Our young conservation artists will draw inspiration from the colorful world around us as they dive into the depths of the deep blue SEA to study master artists such as Robert Wyland, J.M.W. Turner, and Katsushika Hokusai. From sunrises to stardust, artists will be reaching for the SKY next as they soar into a world of possibility. Inspired by the stormy, swirling heavens of Vincent van Gogh and Emily Carr, or the masters who capture light such as Claude Monet and John Constable, our young artists will use a vivid palette from celestial scenes to challenge them to think beyond the canvas.

Tide & Moon!
Artists as scientists will enjoy studying the gravitational force between the TIDE and MOON and the opportunity to explore the continual motion of nature through ART! The TIDE is rising, and we will get that creativity flowing as water lovers embrace sun-drenched, energetic ocean scenes painted by Joaquin Sorolla, Edvard Munch, and Donald James Waters. Then, step into the light of the MOON and explore the art of the night! Artists will study the glowing nocturnal landscapes of Caspar David Friedrich, Fritz Henry Lane, and Ansel Adams and illuminate the power of contrast in art. The gravitational pull is inviting us in and lighting the way for some magnificent creative experiences!
Tide: June 16th – June 20th
Moon: June 23rd – June 27th

Wings & Flippers!
The KNMA studio will be filled with the magical presence of WINGS AND FLIPPERS as we create and discover the wild side of air and water! Artists will spread their WINGS and take flight through the animal kingdom inspired by the various media of avian master artists such as John James Audubon, Charley Harper, and David Shepherd. Next, leaving the shore behind, young “marine biologists” will explore the wonders of our sea inhabitants that make a splash with FLIPPERS! Dive deep into ART using the painting techniques of Guy Harvey from Jamaica, Jenny Berry from Australia, and Giles Ward from England, just to name a few. Get ready to fly high and flip into action!
Wings: June 30th – July 3rd (4 Day Week – No Class July 4th)
Flippers: July 7th – July 11th

Shell & Stone!
Nature lovers will recognize the importance of a SHELL and STONE as essential minerals and rocks of our world. Our campers will unravel the hidden beauty of nature’s spiral treasures: the SHELL. Artists will study intricate detail and texture as seen in the works of Georgia O’Keeffe and Adriaen Coorte, as well as the colorful nature still life compositions of Henri Matisse and Paul Cezanne. Next, our young artists will discover the timeless strength of STONE through Henry Moore’s monumentally bold, organic sculptures and Andy Goldsworthy’s balanced rock installations highlighting the harmony between art and nature. Other sculptors such as Constantin Brancusi, Auguste Rodin, and Michelangelo will show that even the heaviest materials can create delicate beauty. Let’s shell-ebrate nature and rock the weeks!

Nature & Nurture!
Lose yourself in the lush beauty of the natural world exploring NATURE and NURTURE! Our artists will step into the wild and let their creativity bloom with NATURE drawing inspiration from Clyde Butcher’s black and white photography, Martin Johnson Heade’s vibrant jungle scenes, and even Andy Warhol’s Pop Art masterpieces! In our final week of NURTURE, our talented campers will celebrate the power of self-care, growth, and connection! Mary Cassatt’s tender portraits will highlight the beauty of human bonds, while Eduardo Kobra’s vivid murals show how art can unite communities. Other master artists such as Nila-Udo will inspire us to create with the environment in mind, while reflecting on comfort and memory as seen in the works of Louis Bourgeois. Excited to end our summer with nature’s boldest hues and art that comes from the heart!
